The client

Our client, a Housing Association, are looking to recruit a Tenancy Sustainment Coach until July 2025. The Tenancy Sustainment Team works closely with the Neighbourhood Teams to support those at risk of potentially failing a tenancy and to ensure tenancy sustainability.

The role

  • To take referrals from Neighbourhood teams for the more vulnerable and complex customers, undertaking risk assessments, safeguarding and multi-agency work, drawing on their welfare benefit knowledge to help maximise customers income.
  • To provide early intervention, guidance and assistance to customers who are most at risk of failing to sustain their tenancy, both before and during their tenancy.
  • To focus on the customer’s strengths, encouraging them to build on these by identifying the skills and tools they need to successfully manage their tenancy and live independently.
  • To understand customer demand trends and sustainment trigger points, using customer data to inform best approaches to deliver sustainment services.
  • To provide support, coaching and assistance to front-line colleagues, to enable them to signpost and support customers, often working in conjunction with tenancy management or legal intervention when cases are escalated by colleagues for intensive support.
  • To develop relationships with other support providers and agencies operating in our neighbourhoods in order to work collaboratively and to signpost customers to other specialist and/or statutory agencies.
  • To champion, promote and adhere to our Customer Service Standards.

What our client is looking for:

  • An understanding of the challenges vulnerable people may face when sustaining a tenancy.
  • Strengths based interventions to support people to achieve positive outcomes.
  • An understanding of welfare benefits and how to support customers to maximise these.
  • A broad knowledge around mental health and addiction support.
  • Experience of working with wider statutory agencies to support customers to sustain their tenancies.
  • Hoarding knowledge would be beneficial.
  • A driver with access to a vehicle for work.
  • An Enhanced Adult DBS is required for this role.
