About Us:

We are dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching environment for all our students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The Team Teach training is important for the role as you are working with children who often display challenging behaviour and the ability to de-escalate this is vital.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEND, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and can participate fully in college life. This position requires patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students’ lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in various educational activities, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs as required.
  • Work closely with students displaying challenging behaviours, providing one-on-one support and guidance.
  • Utilise your Team Teach training to safely and effectively manage difficult situations and prevent escalation.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to develop behaviour management strategies and plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and progress.
  • Foster positive relationships with students and provide them with the necessary tools to improve behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive school environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Team Teach certification or similar behaviour training is mandatory.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • A relevant qualification in special education or a related field is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of various special educational needs and strategies to support them.
  • Basic understanding of safeguarding and health & safety practices.
  • Enhanced DBS on update service or willingness to apply for one
