About the role:

A high-profile role within the IT Services department requires strong technical and people management skills with experience working within an ITIL-compliant service desk. The post-holder will also act as 3rd line support and have line management responsibility for a small support team within a busy, agile environment.

The post-holder will ensure the technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently, delivering the highest service availability, performance and security levels. This includes the implementation, administration, support and continued development of IT services ensuring effective BAU operation of all enterprise IT systems, including servers, applications, cloud services, storage and networks, to ensure a highly available and resilient IT infrastructure.

About the person:

The ideal candidate will hold relevant qualifications in computing with vendor certifications and must have at least five years of demonstrable experience working within a senior technical role. The postholder will be experienced with the technical administration, development and support of a complex multi-site, multi-domain virtualised Windows environment and network, with the ability to undertake root-cause analysis and deliver robust solutions.

A motivated self-starter with an eye for detail and the ability to multi-task within an agile environment. With excellent communication and organisational skills, you can lead and manage a technical support team and engage with stakeholders across the business, including staff, students and external agencies.
