Senior Public Affairs and Parliamentary Associate

Overview:

Morgan Hunt is currently working with a regulatory body who have a newly established public affairs team and are looking for a Senior Associate Public Affairs to join their dynamic team on an interim basis. Contribute to shaping their future by building their profile, enhancing their reputation, and engaging stakeholders through proactive campaigns.

You will be responsible for contributing and delivering their new public affairs strategy aiming to get the right message across to the right audiences by strengthening their horizon scanning and issue management.

The successful candidate must be extremely reliable. Can work collaboratively and develop strong working relations with colleagues and external stakeholders.

Contract Type/ Length: 6 Month Fixed Term Contract
Salary: £50,000 per annum (pro rata’d)
Location: London, Hybrid (40% in office)

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Engagement: Work collaboratively to develop and implement a public affairs strategy aligned with the organisation’s objectives, ensuring effective engagement with key stakeholders.
  • Tactical Awareness: Recommend and implement tactics for engagement, raising awareness, and strengthening regulatory reputation with targeted stakeholders.
  • Parliamentary Portfolio Management: Manage a busy portfolio of parliamentary activities, including responding to inquiries, developing proactive engagement plans, and engaging with select committees and relevant APPGs.
  • Horizon Scanning and Monitoring: Stay ahead of developments in Westminster related to our work, maintaining a public affairs schedule, and providing timely intelligence to internal staff.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Support: Actively contribute to broader stakeholder engagement planning and activities, providing logistical and administrative coordination.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Experience in developing and delivering parliamentary and stakeholder engagement programs.
  • Understanding of parliamentary procedures and stakeholder best practices.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving approach in various contexts.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to plan.
  • Strong communication skills across verbal, written, and presentation channels.
