Morgan Hunt are currently working with a Regulatory Body, based in London, in their search for a number of interim Regulatory Officers to undertake risk and evidence-based authorisation of applications.

As a Regulatory Officer, you will ensure applications are prioritised and assessed within target timescales, while applying risk and other relevant frameworks and guidelines to produce robust and consistent authorisation decisions. You will deal with telephone and email queries relating to authorisation activity, identify information requires to facilitate robust reporting and draft high-quality decisions.

You will have a good understanding of regulation and supervision (ideally with a legal and/or investigation background), with experience applying a decision-making framework. You will have strong experience gathering and analysing information to inform and draft high-quality decisions. You will have excellent communication (written and verbal), attention to details and IT literacy skills, with the ability to prioritise work effectively.

Job Title: Regulatory Officer

Location: Hybrid (4 days in the London Office per month)

Annual Salary: £40, 445

Hours: Full-Time (37 hours per week)

Job Type: 12 month FTC (Potential extension, permanency)

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure applications are prioritised and assessed within target timescales
  • Gather and analyse a range of information to inform application decision making
  • Apply risk and other relevant frameworks and guidelines to produce robust and consistent authorisation decisions
  • Deal with telephone and email queries relating to authorisation activity
  • Identify information requires to facilitate robust reporting
  • Make and draft high-quality decisions
  • Build positive and constructive relationships with internal stakeholders

Personal Specification

  • Experience within a regulatory regime and good understanding of regulation and supervision
  • Knowledge of the legal profession and legal requirements (knowledge of the legal profession from other countries would be advantageous)
  • Experience of applying frameworks to inform decision making
  • Good experience of analysing information and making decisions against specific criteria
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Brilliant interpersonal skills, both written and verbally.
  • Fantastic attention to detail and the proven ability to proofread and check for inaccuracies.
  • Supporting the organisation as appropriate, from preparing agendas to taking minutes
