Are you a Private Sector Lettings Officer looking for work in East London?

Morgan Hunt’s Public Sector and Government client based in East London is looking to recruit a Private Sector Lettings Officer to provide support throughout a busy period.

This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35.

As a Private Sector Lettings Officer, you will be responsible for managing properties in the private rented sector, facilitating lettings, and ensuring the provision of high-quality temporary accommodation for individuals and families in need.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:

  • Provide support and assistance to tenants residing in properties managed by the organization, including addressing tenancy-related issues, signposting to relevant support services, and facilitating access to housing-related benefits and entitlements.
  • Manage a portfolio of properties in the private rented sector, including conducting property inspections, overseeing maintenance and repairs, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate the lettings process for vacant properties, including advertising vacancies, conducting viewings, screening applicants, and negotiating tenancy agreements. Ensure timely and efficient turnaround of void properties to minimize vacancy rates.
  • Manage the provision of temporary accommodation for individuals and families experiencing housing instability, including liaising with landlords, negotiating lease agreements, and overseeing the day-to-day operation of temporary accommodation units.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with private landlords and property owners, negotiating lease agreements, resolving tenancy disputes, and promoting the benefits of working with the organization to provide housing solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of property management activities, tenant interactions, and temporary accommodation placements using the organization’s database systems. Prepare reports and analysis on property performance, occupancy rates, and tenancy outcomes.
