Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of multiple projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Governance and Compliance: Establish governance structures to ensure projects are managed effectively, adhering to public sector regulations and standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders to define project priorities, allocate resources, and manage risks.
  • Training and Mentorship: Develop and deliver training programs to upskill existing staff, with the goal of creating a sustainable project management capability within the organisation.
  • Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates to senior management, including progress reports, risk assessments, and project performance analysis.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven track record of setting up a PMO and managing projects from zero, preferably within the public sector.
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, frameworks, and tools (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, PMBOK).
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate complex challenges and provide innovative solutions in a dynamic environment.
  • Public Sector Knowledge: Familiarity with the unique requirements and challenges of working in a public sector organisation.
  • Digital Transformation: Experience with digital projects and the ability to translate technical requirements into actionable plans.
