Job Title – PMO Manager
Contact – 6 Months (Hybrid – 2 day per week)
Pay – £ 450 – 600 per day (InsideIR35)
Location – Birmingham City Centre
Key Responsibilities:
- PMO Setup: Design and implement a comprehensive PMO, including the development of processes, templates, tools, and reporting mechanisms from scratch.
- Project Management: Oversee the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of multiple projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Governance and Compliance: Establish governance structures to ensure projects are managed effectively, adhering to public sector regulations and standards.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders to define project priorities, allocate resources, and manage risks.
- Training and Mentor ship: Develop and deliver training programs to up skill existing staff, with the goal of creating a sustainable project management capability within the organisation.
- Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates to senior management, including progress reports, risk assessments, and project performance analysis.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Proven track record of setting up a PMO and managing projects from zero, preferably within the public sector.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, frameworks, and tools (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, PMBOK).
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate complex challenges and provide innovative solutions in a dynamic environment.
- Public Sector Knowledge: Familiarity with the unique requirements and challenges of working in a public sector organisation.
- Digital Transformation: Experience with digital projects and the ability to translate technical requirements into actionable plans.
