Pay: £15 – £20 per hour
Contract: Full time 35 hours per week
Key responsibilities:
In this Physics Technician role, your responsibilities will include:
· The ideal candidate will have experience of preparing and setting up equipment and materials for Physics practicals and experiments. Assist lecturers in the delivery of science experiments and activities and maintain and clean laboratory equipment and preparation of room.
· Analysing the needs, strengths, and weaknesses of students and structuring tasks around them.
· Providing extra support to students that require it, and more challenging tasks to those who are ahead of the class.
· Keeping abreast of developments and research in the field and using this to ensure practicals and experiments are relevant.
· Reporting any progress issues to the department, as well as the parents.
· Attending meetings, training sessions, workshops, conferences, and other continuing education initiatives.
· Supervising lab sessions, delivering practical demonstrations, and accompanying students on field trips.
· Keeping the line of communication open between students, staff, and parents.
Skills & experience
· Right to Work & Enhanced Adult/Child DBS dated within the last 3 months or on the update service.
· Degree In related discipline
· Excellent interpersonal, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
· Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations.
· Ability to inspire and motivate students.
· Strong multitasking skills.
