Job Opportunity: Payroll Administrator

Location: Brighton
Working Hours: 5 days per week, 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Lunch: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM)
Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience), with an annual salary review in March
Holiday: 25 days + bank/public holidays

Our client are a dynamic, progressive, and tech-driven practice offering an exciting opportunity to join their growing team. As a Payroll Administrator, you will play a vital role in providing a fast and efficient payroll service for their clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll from start to finish, ensuring timely and accurate payments
  • Maintain comprehensive payroll records
  • Calculate part-months and holiday pay
  • Manage statutory payments and process P45’s
  • Communicate with clients to clarify calculations and resolve queries
  • Administer client pension schemes, working with multiple providers

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in data entry and record-keeping
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable working with IT systems and payroll software (Sage, STAR)
  • Well-organised, capable of multitasking and prioritising tasks
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs (A-C), including Maths and English
  • Previous payroll function experience is essential
