Job Description

Morgan Hunt is currently recruiting for a dedicated Nursery Practitioner on behalf of a leading Further Education and Training College in North London. This permanent, full-time role is based across the Finsbury Park and Camden Road campuses. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with children of staff and students, providing high-quality care and education in a cohesive environment.

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will be expected to uphold the overall development of the children in your care, ensure they are engaged in meaningful activities and work effectively as part of a team to meet both the educational and emotional needs of the children.


Key Duties of a Nursery Practitioner

  • Provide high-quality early years education in line with the Further Education and Training college’s policies and procedures.
  • Work across both the Finsbury Park and Camden Road campuses as required.
  • Create a safe and stimulating environment for children, promoting their social, emotional and intellectual development.
  • Engage with parents and carers to ensure children’s individual needs are being met.
  • Follow OFSTED guidelines and ensure compliance with regulations related to early years education.
  • Plan, implement and assess age-appropriate activities for children, ensuring their well-being and development.

Nursery Practitioner Person Specification

  • A Childcare and Education Qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 3 or above (this is an OFSTED requirement).
  • Experience working with children, ideally within a nursery or educational setting.
  • Ability to work flexibly across both campuses, with the ability to work both shift patterns (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM and 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well on an individual basis and as part of a team.
  • A proactive, passionate and professional attitude to work with a dedication to providing high standards of care and education.

Role Details

  • Hours: Full-time, term-time only (35 weeks per year)
  • Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Applicants must be able to work both shift patterns)
  • Salary: £27,452 per annum (pro-rata for term-time only)
