We are seeking a passionate and experienced Maths Lecturer to join our academic team in Newham. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire and support students in their mathematical journey, delivering high-quality lessons in a variety of topics, from basic mathematics to more advanced subjects. As a Maths Lecturer, you will play a key role in helping students develop essential mathematical skills for academic and professional success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lesson Planning & Delivery: Design, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in mathematics, including topics such as algebra, calculus, statistics, and geometry.
- Assessment & Feedback: Develop and administer assessments to monitor student progress, offering constructive feedback that helps students improve their understanding and performance.
- Student Support: Provide one-on-one and group support to students, helping them overcome challenges and enhance their mathematical skills.
- Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and improvement of the maths curriculum, ensuring it aligns with academic standards and meets the needs of students.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging student participation and fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
- Progress Monitoring: Track student progress regularly and implement tailored interventions to help students achieve their academic goals.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- A degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- A relevant teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Proven experience teaching mathematics at Further Education or higher education level.
- Strong knowledge of the mathematics curriculum and examination requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
- A commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Desirable Skills & Attributes:
- Experience with exam boards and knowledge of specific requirements for maths qualifications.
- Ability to incorporate real-world applications and problem-solving techniques into lessons.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
