Pentagon Talent have partnered exclusively with our client, a reputable top 200 UK law firm, is seeking a Legal Aid Billing Assistant to join their dynamic London based finance team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in supporting fee earners by preparing detailed cost schedules and ensuring seamless, timely billing.

This role will be based full time in my clients London office based in Central London near a large station with incredible transport links.

Full training will be provided in this role and my client is looking for someone who is looking to gain more experience and skills to develop their career.

Key Responsibilities for the Legal Aid Billing Assistant:

  • Drafting Cost Schedules: Produce accurate schedules for legal costs under tight deadlines.
  • File and Billing Management: Organise files for cost drafters, manage spreadsheets, and coordinate the signing and submission of cost bills.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile ledgers, ensure timely payment of all disbursements and counsel fees, and arrange payments as required.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Handle queries from fee earners, cost drafters, and external contacts efficiently.
  • Additional Support: Contribute to the team’s success by taking on any other tasks as needed.

  • Strong Communicator: Able to present information clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Organised and Methodical: Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Numerate & Computer Literate: Proficient with spreadsheets and comfortable working with numbers.
