Job Title: Lecturer in Construction

Location: Opportunities across Essex for a college group in Basildon / Southend / Thurrock

Salary: Up to £50 per hour, based on experience

Contract Type: Permanent / Full-Time / Part-Time options available

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Lecturer to join our team. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and training to students pursuing careers in the construction industry. This role requires both theoretical and practical instruction to ensure students gain the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons covering various aspects of construction, including building regulations, health and safety, site management, and trade skills.
  • Assess student work through practical evaluations, assignments, and examinations.
  • Provide tailored support and feedback to help students develop their technical abilities.
  • Use innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and learning.
  • Guide students on career pathways and industry expectations.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance curriculum content and teaching strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all educational standards and safeguarding policies.

Requirements:

  • A degree or industry-recognized qualification in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • A teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Industry experience in construction, site management, or a relevant trade.
  • Previous experience in teaching at the Further Education (FE) or Higher Education (HE) level is preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to student success.
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches to support different learning styles.
