The organisation

In this Lead Worker opportunity in Coventry, you will join an organisation who help 16-25year olds seek temporary accommodation and offer early intervention support to help them transition into permanent accommodation.

Key responsibilities

In this Lead Worker job, your responsibilities will include:

• Being an active member of the community – going out daily rain or sunshine to engage young people with the service and provide help where necessary
• Assess and detail experiences of the young person to Identify their support needs to hep them maintain a tenancy and Improve health and well-being outcomes
• Safeguard young people and vulnerable adults at risk, through appropriate escalation and reporting to statutory services e.g. Inter-agency referral and follow up work.
• Deal with external barriers they may face such as employment, education, substance misuse, learning difficulties etc
• Actively encourage vulnerable young people to move into appropriate accommodation through weekly support sessions on a 1:1 basis

Skills & experience of a Lead Worker

• Prove track record of working In homelessness or youth work
• GCSE or equivalent In Maths and English Is required as well
• NVQ L3 In Advice and Guidance, Health and Social Care or other relevant subject
• Ale to work outside when required covering the whole of Coventry
• Flexible to work evenings / weekends If required – will get time off In lieu
• DBS on the update service – Enhanced Child and Adult Cleared or Issued In the last 12 months
