Morgan Hunt is proud to be partnering with a dynamic technologically focused organisation based in Kent seeking an IT Commercial Officer to join the team. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining positive working relationships with technical suppliers and understanding market trends and commercial activities.

Job Title: IT Commercial Officer

Salary: £33,000

Job Type: Permanent

Working arrangement: 2 days hybrid working on site

Responsibilities

• Maintain supplier data and conduct analysis to enhance supply chain operations, including timely renewals, terminations, and regular due diligence.
• Support budget planning and operational monitoring, identifying areas for improvement within the supply chain.
• Foster positive relationships with technology suppliers, staying informed about market trends and commercial activities to align with the organisation’s tech strategy and procurement/commercial models.
• Ensure consistent delivery-focused suppliers are available according to the technology strategy’s needs.
• Administer the IT department’s Supplier & Contracts Management Information System (SCMIS), providing management information and developing dashboards showing key supplier metrics.
• Facilitate the review, processing, and completion of renewals and terminations to achieve best value, while administering the Supplier Due Diligence process to ensure a robust supplier base.
• Handle minor contractual issues and build strong operational relationships with supplier account management.
• Provide administrative support for the IT department’s Commercial Profiles, Financial reporting, and Resource Management Processes.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of budget planning and forecasting.
• Strong influencing and problem-solving skills, with effective communication abilities.
• Experience managing service and/or project delivery with suppliers.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Deep understanding of Microsoft systems, especially M365 and Power BI (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint).
• Understanding of contract structures and risk management.
• Basic negotiation skills with a record of delivering value for money.
• Tech-savvy with strong contract and supplier relationship management experience.
• Experience in partnership working, stakeholder management, and establishing trust.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain qualifications relating to ITIL Foundation and Supplier Management.
