About the Role

Pentagon Talent have partnered with a highly impressive International Law Firm who are looking for an experienced International Tax Manager to join the Partners’ Affairs and Tax (PAT) Team within their Finance Department based in London. As one of two International Tax Managers in London, the role will be central to supporting the firm’s international tax compliance and managing tax risk. This role involves working closely with local CFOs and advisers across key territories, including the US, France, Germany, and Europe. The ideal candidate will be a tax specialist with at least 2-3 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally in a partnership setting, and a strong record of delivering projects end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead global tax compliance by coordinating with local CFOs and managing international advisers to ensure timely tax filings for the firm and its partners.
  • Prepare and review non-UK tax reserve calculations, tax equalisation, and fiscal notes, as well as reconcile partners’ non-UK tax reserves.
  • Manage withholding tax exposures, advising on cross-border mobility and handling other ad-hoc tax advisory matters.
  • Oversee and mentor a team of 2-3 direct reports, including tax consultants and junior team members, to support their development and drive efficiency.
  • Drive process improvements, staying updated on international tax developments, and acting as a key resource for tax compliance across specific territories.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Prior experience gained within a Professional Services environment within the United Kingdom.
  • A collaborative approach and strong relationship-building skills across international teams.
  • A relevant accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA) alongside a tax specialist qualification (ATT, CTA, CIOT).
  • A proven ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly to non-specialists, and experience with partnership tax, personal tax, corporate tax, or indirect tax.
  • Strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, and comfort managing people within a supportive, team-oriented environment.
