Interim Senior Business Accountant
Morgan Hunt are working with a Membership Body based in London looking to recruit an Interim Senior Business Accountant. This is a 12-week contract role, hybrid working, paying up to £54 p/hour.
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Senior Business Accountant:
- Manage two Assistant Business Accountants, ensuring high performance and service delivery.
- Provide expert financial advice and support to senior management and budget holders.
- Review and validate monthly management reports and commentaries for accuracy and completeness.
- Lead the quarterly forecasting process, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Support year-end processes, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely submission of required information.
- Build strong relationships with budget holders across multiple directorates.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, data protection, and audit requirements.
Previous Skills and Experience of the Interim Senior Business Accountant:
- Fully qualified accountant (CCAB/CIMA) with current professional membership.
- Strong proficiency in recognised accounting software (ideally Open Accounts).
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations.
- Proven experience in management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Demonstrable leadership and staff management experience, driving high performance.
- Expertise in year-end processes and audit preparation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
