Interim Finance Officer

Morgan Hunt are working with a Housing Association in Central London who are looking to recruit an Interim Finance Officer. This is a 3 month contract role paying up to £20 p/hour. This role will require 2-3 days p/week in the office.

The post holder will be joining the Rents & Receipts Team as a Finance Officer and play a key role in ensuring financial integrity and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Officer:

  • Payment Processing: Accurately post rent receipts, direct debit payments, and other charges to our housing management system, ensuring all entries meet procedural standards.
  • Account Adjustments: Process rent account adjustments, client refunds, and resolve suspense account discrepancies while adhering to authorisation protocols.
  • Reconciliation and Reporting: Reconcile accounts, review banking data, and provide timely information on rent or service charge payments to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Housing Benefits Allocation: Update and maintain Housing Benefit notifications to ensure payments are correctly assigned to client accounts.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with team members and external entities, including debt collectors, payment service providers, and local authorities, to ensure smooth financial operations.

Previous Skills and Experience of the Finance Officer:

  • Experience managing large financial transaction volumes, ideally with knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and housing-related processes.
  • Solid accounts payable background.
  • Excellent IT, communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
