Walsall College has been successful in securing one-year project funding from Innovate UK to support the creation and development of Innovation Centres across the Black Country. The project is a collaborative project between Walsall, City of Wolverhampton, South Staffordshire, Dudley and Halesowen Colleges.
Black Country Innovation Services will create Innovation Centres in central, accessible locations within the above FE Colleges for local businesses seeking technical expertise and practical support. The Innovation Centres will accommodate the schedules of businesses, ensuring timely access to state-of-the-art facilities and expert guidance around technologies such as:
*High end Computer Numerical Control production
*Robotics
*Computer Aided Design
*Rapid Prototyping and Additive Manufacturing
*Materials and product testing
*Networking and cyber security
*Artificial Intelligence
*Web solutions
*Retrofit
*Green technologies
The roles will engage with and support businesses operating in the following sectors: –
Advanced Manufacturing
Engineering
Construction
Retrofit
ICT/Digital Technologies
We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual with a passion for driving technological innovation and enhancing productivity within local businesses to join Walsall College as an Innovate Consultant.
What we are looking for someone with:
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and positively impact audiences.
Strong decision-making skills and the ability to analyse and interpret complex information.
Effective planning and organisational abilities with a high level of adaptability and resilience.
Significant experience in business development or advisory roles, preferably within the education sector.
Advanced negotiation skills and a strategic thinker with exceptional analytical problem-solving abilities.
