Are you a Housing Options & Assessment Officer looking for work in East London?

Morgan Hunt’s Public Sector and Government client based in East London is looking to recruit a Housing Options & Assessment Officer to provide support throughout a busy period.

This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35.

As a Housing Options & Assessment Officer, you will play a pivotal role in assessing the housing needs of individuals and families, providing expert advice on housing options, and ensuring compliance with homelessness legislation.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:

  • Provide comprehensive advice and guidance to clients on their housing options, including social housing, private renting, supported accommodation, and homelessness prevention strategies. Work collaboratively with clients to develop personalized housing plans.
  • Implement effective homelessness prevention strategies, including early intervention, mediation, financial assistance, and tenancy sustainment support. Advocate on behalf of clients to prevent eviction and secure suitable accommodation.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of individuals and families presenting as homeless or at risk of homelessness, in accordance with homelessness legislation and local authority guidelines. Gather relevant information, assess eligibility, and identify appropriate housing and support options.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of homelessness legislation, including the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, and relevant statutory guidance. Ensure compliance with legal duties, policies, and procedures in all aspects of homelessness assessment and housing options provision.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, local authorities, housing associations, health services, and support agencies to coordinate holistic support services for clients. Liaise with external partners to access additional resources and support as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of housing options assessments, interventions, and outcomes using the organization’s database systems. Prepare reports and analysis on homelessness trends, client demographics, and service performance.
