Morgan Hunt is currently supporting a local Northwest based, Housing Association, in their hunt for 2 Housing Officers to join their Customer and Communities division on a permanent basis, working 36.25 hours per week.

The role

As a generic Housing Officer, this role will include all elements of the housing management function including lettings, ASB, tenancy management, estate management, low level income and safeguarding across an allocated neighbourhood of approximately 600 properties. You will provide a high-quality, customer focused services within your designated neighbourhood, delivering a proactive approach to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and promote sustainability. The workflow is generally 10% office based, with 90% field based and occasional project work.

  • Work closely with other teams and partners to ensure the professional delivery of customer focused services.
  • Provide information to the Income Services team to ensure the timely collection of all rents and charges due.
  • Accountability for the end-to-end lettings process to ensure that our homes are let in accordance with the Lettings Policy, empty homes loss is minimised and performance against KPIs is achieved.
  • To ensure agreed performance targets, objectives and service standards are met and suitable corrective action is taken when they are not. This will include the identification of service improvements.
  • Lead on Neighbourhoods Together to develop Action Plans by partnership working within communities. Identify improvements to support neighbourhoods to be attractive, safe and well maintained.
  • Take responsibility for the resolution of all tenancy management issues that arise, including the investigation and resolution of low level anti-social behaviour and nuisance cases.
  • Acting as a nominated safeguarding officer, build and maintain relationships with other agencies, families, partners and any other involved parties to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.
  • Take a proactive approach to tenancy sustainment.
  • Network with other agencies to develop and improve links and widen knowledge base.

The candidate

  • Awareness and empathy of the social issues and respect for diverse individual needs.
  • Experience of dealing professionally with challenging and complex situations whilst maintaining a customer focused service.
  • Delivers a high-quality service by adopting a customer centric approach.
  • Experience of identifying the needs of vulnerable customers and commitment to provide assistance.
  • Experience of delivering high quality housing management and/or lettings services to develop sustainable tenancies which build stronger neighbourhoods and communities.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong and effective partnerships with customers, colleagues and other agencies.
  • Excellent Office 365 and general IT skills with the ability to produce documents and correspondence to a professional and accurate standard.
  • Ability to identify risks and opportunities and be able to react to these quickly and appropriately.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently manage workloads and meet deadlines through the use of flexible working arrangements.
  • Experience of effective partnership working to deliver positive outcomes for the benefit of the community.
  • The post holder is required to travel within across the borough of Greater Manchester so will have a car available for business use. A car mileage allowance is payable.
