Are you a Housing Needs Reviews Caseworker looking for work in North London?

Morgan Hunt’s Public Sector and Government client based in North London is looking to recruit a Housing Needs Reviews Caseworker to provide support throughout a busy period.

This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35.

As a Housing Needs Reviews Caseworker, you will be responsible for conducting thorough reviews of housing decisions, including homelessness applications, and writing detailed and legally compliant review decision letters. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of housing law, particularly the Housing Act 1996 (Part 7) and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:

  • Conduct reviews of housing needs decisions, including homelessness applications, in accordance with the Housing Act 1996 (Part 7) and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Draft comprehensive and legally compliant review decision letters, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to legal frameworks.
  • Review and assess housing decisions to ensure that they have been made fairly and in line with legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Liaise with clients, legal representatives, and external agencies to gather additional evidence and ensure all relevant information is considered in the review process.
  • Manage a caseload of review cases, ensuring decisions are made within statutory timescales.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to the housing team on the review process and relevant housing legislation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all reviews and decisions, ensuring that all documentation is properly filed and accessible.
  • Stay up to date with changes in housing legislation and case law, ensuring all decisions reflect current legal standards and best practices.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the housing reviews process by identifying areas for development and implementing solutions.
