Location: West London

Hours: Monday to Friday 9-5 – Hybrid Working – 3 days in the hospital, 1 day in the London Office and 1 day from home

Salary: Qualified £30,850 – Unqualified £28,810 (inc £2,800 London Weighting Allowance)

Contract: FTC with the potential to extend

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our team, providing vital support to victims of domestic abuse. This role involves delivering a high-quality, front-line service to individuals aged 16 and over, ensuring their safety and reducing harm through effective intervention and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective support strategies for victims of domestic abuse and those assisting them, with a focus on improving safety and reducing harm.
  • Deliver a responsive and high-quality service to victims, prioritising support based on the level of risk.
  • Work within a multi-agency framework, including MARAC and local partnership initiatives, to ensure a coordinated approach to victim safety.
  • Lead group training sessions and confidently share specialist knowledge with hospital staff, enhancing their understanding and response to domestic abuse.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and a proactive mindset, with the ability to positively influence service delivery and improve outcomes for victims.

Please note: The successful candidate will be required to sign an honorary contract with the Hospital Trust alongside their employment contract.


Essential Skills and Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of the barriers faced by victims of domestic abuse and their support needs, including within both heterosexual and same-sex relationships.
  • A solid understanding of domestic and sexual abuse and the impact on victims and their children.
  • Expertise in risk assessment, safety planning, and risk management for victims and their children.
  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding procedures and the legal responsibilities involved.
  • Experience in delivering direct support to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable individuals.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with a range of agencies and individuals.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all areas of work.
  • Proven ability to manage crises and handle challenging situations with professionalism and resilience.
