Morgan Hunt is delighted to be partnered with Highlands and Islands Airport on an exclusive basis to recruit an interim Head of Procurement.

This Head of Procurement post is a 6 month FTC, however this could be a permanent opportunity for the right candidate. Hybrid working model is in place, however there would be an expectation of regular travel to one of the 11 airports (head office in Inverness is the preference but candidates who are located near one of the other airports will be considered).

  • Inverness
  • Islay
  • Kirkwall
  • Stornoway
  • Sumburgh
  • Tiree
  • Wick

Main responsibilities for Head of Procurement:

  • Identifying and implementing operational outsourcing opportunities, sustainability evolution, supply chain risk, rationalisation/maintenance of appropriate supply chains, supplier relationship management and performance monitoring.
  • Lead and manage the Procurement Team to achieve successful procurement outcomes and meet Procurement Strategy aims
  • Oversee the management of procurement activities across all departments and airports, ensuring procurement is undertaken within defined and agreed standards of probity, transparency, openness, and accountability
  • Oversee the negotiation, formation and execution of contracts to protect HIAL’s interest
  • Lead the participation in various external audit processes, including the company’s Internal Audit programme and the Scottish Government’s Procurement Capability Improvement Programme (PCIP)

Key requirements for Head of Procurement:

  • Strong procurement expertise across the end-to-end sourcing process with a track record of delivering strategic objectives
  • Expert knowledge of public sector Procurement Regulations, with demonstrable experience of public sector procurement
  • Procurement Category Management expertise, with exposure across direct and indirect spend
  • Creates effective strategies focused on adding value and establishes them within the organisation
  • Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) qualification or equivalent, or working towards
  • Disclosure check & 5 year reference history
