Finance Officer
Morgan Hunt are working with a College in West London who are looking to recruit a Finance Officer. This is a 2 – 3 month contract (temp to perm) role paying up to £17 p/hour. This role will be fully office based.
Key Responsibilities of the Finance Officer:
- Key Finance Functions: Manage sales and purchase ledgers, handle credit control, bank income, and process payments to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
- Month-End Responsibilities: Support month-end processes, including ledger reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and provide accurate financial information for management reporting.
- Student Financial Support: Administer and reconcile payments related to student bursaries, loans, and financial aid, supporting the Information Centre on student financial queries.
- System Administration: Maintain and administer the college’s accounting system (bluQube), handle user setup, training, and address system-related queries.
- Asset and Budget Management: Maintain the asset register, assist budget holders with monitoring and forecasting, and support internal and external audits.
Previous Skills and Experience of the Finance Officer:
- Ideally AAT qualified.
- Experience with computerised accounting systems and PC-based software in medium to large organisations, plus relevant IT skills.
- Understanding of equal opportunities, Prevent, and Safeguarding policies, and how to integrate them into college operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ideally have previously worked in a college / holds a valid DBS.
