    Morgan Hunt is working with a College in South London who are looking at recruiting a Finance Officer. This is a 3-6 month contract role paying up to £19 p/hour.

    Reporting to the Head of Finance & Payroll, the role involves overseeing daily treasury, banking, and income generation tasks, including invoicing for tuition fees, local authorities, and other debtors.

    Key Responsibilities of the Finance Officer:

    • Manage College bank accounts, conduct daily reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and ensure banking software integrates with accounting systems.
    • Prepare daily cashflow forecasts, communicate financing needs to managers, and manage SLC student loans.
    • Oversee invoicing processes, monitor tuition fee collections, and manage debt recovery procedures.
    • Conduct monthly audit checks on tuition fees, report discrepancies, and manage debt recovery across all income streams.
    • Provide support and advice on cash transactions to college staff, manage student and local authority debts, and arrange payment plans for students in financial difficulty.
    • Perform credit control tasks, reconcile bank accounts, forecast year-end income, assist with management accounts, accounts payable duties, and provide banking support during enrolment.

    Previous Skills and Experience of the Finance Officer:

    • Fully qualified AAT minimum.
    • Analysing financial data and preparing reports using PC spreadsheet and word-processing packages.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Previous experience in the Public sector or education environment.
    • Enhanced DBS is ideal.
