Finance Business Partner (Health and Social Care Partnership)

Location: Remote with occasional trips to Scottish Borders.

Contract: 6-month fixed-term contract

Morgan Hunt is Recruitment is seeking an experienced finance professional to take on the role of Finance Business Partner. Our client is a forward-thinking regional local authority committed to improving the lives of its residents. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Business Partner to join the team to support the development of our Health and Social Care Partnership.

The Role:

The Finance Business Partner will play a crucial role in providing financial guidance support and advice to the Health and Social Care Partnership. You will be responsible for:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Developing and implementing financial plans, budgets, and forecasts for the Partnership.
  • Business Partnering: Building strong relationships with Partnership managers and providing strategic financial advice.
  • Financial Performance: Monitoring and reporting on financial performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Cost Management: Analysing costs, identifying opportunities for savings, and implementing cost-saving measures within the Partnership.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensuring adherence to financial regulations and policies specific to health and social care.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a public sector organization, preferably in health and social care or local authority.
  • Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A good understanding of local government finance and accounting standards

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in developing and implementing financial plans for partnerships or joint ventures.
  • Knowledge of financial management systems used in health and social care.
  • Experience in project management, particularly related to service improvement or transformation initiatives.
