Finance Assistant

Morgan Hunt is working with a University in London who are looking at recruiting a Finance Assistant. This is a 6 month contract role paying up to £21 p/hour and will offer hybrid working.

The post-holder will be responsible for general accounting and transaction processing and ensure the accuracy of projects and general ledger.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant:

• Provide operational accounting services, including journal processing, reconciliations, invoicing, PO requisitioning, and form approvals.
• Support month-end processes, ensuring accurate management reporting through data management and reconciliation.
• Deliver general accounting and transnational processing services, enhancing customer service and improving financial systems, processes, and work flows.
• Perform monthly and year-end activities to ensure compliance with financial regulations and audit requirements, escalating issues as necessary.
• Foster strong working relationships within the finance team, contributing to training, sharing best practices, and supporting team initiatives.

Previous Skills and Experience of the Finance Assistant:

• Experience of working in a service delivery environment.
• Teamwork experience in a finance department.
• Excellent IT skills including advanced Excel knowledge, strong written and verbal communication.
• Previous experience of working within higher education is ideal.
