Morgan Hunt are currently working with a Further Education College in their search for a temporary Events Assistant to the Group Head of Events.

You will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Group Head of Events and other team members, to co-ordinate the events calendar and events register, book venues, catering and other logistics, prepare agendas and take minutes for the various event working groups relating to some major events coming up.

The successful candidate will have experience of providing administrative support ideally within an events or marketing environment. You must also have organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload as well as work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Location: Bedford (fully on-site)

Pay Rate: £16 per hour (Umbrella)

Job Type: Temporary

Hours: Full-time

Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

· Maintain and update the events calendar, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.

· Prepare agendas and take minutes for working groups around the Awards ceremonies and the Higher Education Graduation Ceremony.

· Assist in updating and maintaining event plans, schedules, and documentation.

· Coordinate venue bookings, catering arrangements, and equipment logistics.

· Ensure procurement of promotional materials, merchandise, and event decorations.

· Support the team with administration relating to the Open Days including the preparation and distribution of event-related documentation, including briefing packs, open-day guides, and staff rotas.

· Maintain event attendance records and feedback data for post-event reporting.

· Capture and collate event photography and video content for internal use and social media

· Represent the Events Team at internal and external meetings as needed.

· Undertake any other duties assigned by the Group Head of Events or Executive Director

Person Specification

· Must have GCSE English and Maths (grades A* to C) or equivalent and educated to A-Level standard or equivalent.

· Must possess an enhanced DBS on the update service and experience in administrative roles, ideally within an events or marketing environment.

· Experience using office management software, databases, and CRM systems.

· Experience with event coordination and logistics.

· Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Problem-solving skills with the ability to use initiative, work independently and as part of a team.

· Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
