Engineering Department
Engineering Lecturer – Emphasis in Welding
FTE 1.0 Full time 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
*The salary for this role is £43,200 to £52,000 per annum. If you have a degree in Engineering and at least 5 years relevant engineering experience, then your starting salary would be £50,000 per annum rising to £52,000 over a 2-year period*
If you have practical hands on experience within engineering, a passion to pass on your skills to the next generation of engineers and the ability to teach the following subjects then we would like to hear from you!
• Turning (up to L3 standard)
• Milling (up to L3 standard)
• Fabrication & Sheetmetal (up to L3 standard)
• MIG Welding (up to L3 standard)
• TIG Welding (up to L3 standard)
Whether you’re new to teaching or experienced in the engineering field, we’re a college that promotes progression and development in all our staff and will consider those who have industry experience, you do not have to be a teacher to teach in FE – we will train you!
Basingstoke College of Technology is a leading and well-respected further education college situated in North Hampshire, easily accessible and with excellent transport links to surrounding areas.

Working within our Engineering department, you will be delivering high quality teaching and learning programmes, ensuring that students and employers receive an outstanding level of service. You will play an active role in the continued improvement of course delivery for Engineering courses and will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-planned lessons for a range of different programmes including FE, HE and Apprenticeships.
Full training and support will be offered for those who currently do not have a teaching qualification**
You will also hold or be willing to work towards accredited vocational assessor and internal verifier qualifications.
