Role Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Lecturer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching across a range of engineering subjects, including mechanical, electrical, civil, and general engineering. This role involves designing and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to the academic development of our students in the field of engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching in various engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, civil, and general engineering
  • Develop, update, and implement course materials in alignment with industry standards and academic requirements
  • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to foster academic growth and development
  • Encourage students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical engineering problems
  • Contribute to curriculum development and the continuous improvement of teaching practices
  • Support students in their learning journey, providing guidance and mentorship to promote success
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in engineering and technology to ensure the relevance and quality of course content

Key Requirements

  • A degree in Engineering or a related field (such as Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or General Engineering)
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed) or a commitment to obtaining one
  • Proven experience in teaching engineering at a post-secondary level
  • Strong subject knowledge in one or more engineering disciplines
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for teaching and supporting students in their academic and professional growth

Desirable Skills

  • Experience teaching engineering at various levels (e.g., A-level, vocational, higher education)
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and modern teaching methodologies
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software, tools, and technologies
  • Relevant industry experience in engineering-related roles
