The Role

You’ll play a vital role in supporting the editorial and publishing process across a portfolio of journals and book titles. From managing meetings and minute-taking to processing payments and liaising with editorial boards, no two days are the same.

You’ll also support digital publishing efforts-including reviewing transcripts for podcasts and posting content on social media-as well as contribute to conferences and events.

The Editorial Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Organise and minute Editorial Board and management meetings

  • Support digital content production (transcripts, captions, social media)
  • Coordinate responses submitted via online journal systems
  • Assist with additional content types (book reviews, obituaries, etc.)
  • Manage publishing archives and shared inbox
  • Provide administrative support to the wider publishing team at events

We’re looking for an Editorial Assistant with:

  • A proactive and professional approach to administration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise
  • A collaborative attitude and customer-focused mindset
  • Confidence using IT and digital systems (Microsoft Office essential)

Desirable experience includes: academic publishing, using online submission systems, and familiarity with academic papers or editorial workflows.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, friendly team where your contribution will help shape the publishing work of a respected and high-impact organisation. You’ll be supported to grow your skills and work in a purpose-led environment.
