Morgan Hunt is collaborating with a leading Consultancy in the pursuit of a seasoned Data Engineer to be based in either Bristol or Cheltenham.

Responsibilities:

This pivotal role resides within a swiftly expanding segment of our enterprise, where you will:

  • Forge and maintain optimal data architectures and pipelines.
  • Construct intricate data sets, meticulously aligning with both functional and non-functional business prerequisites.
  • Identify avenues for procuring novel data from disparate systems.
  • Cultivate and refine data set processes for modeling, mining, and production.
  • Erect the necessary infrastructure for the seamless extraction, transformation, and loading of data from an extensive array of sources.
  • Propose and enact methodologies to enhance data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to fashion analytics tools leveraging the data pipeline, thereby furnishing actionable insights into asset management, operational efficiency, and other pivotal business performance metrics.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including Product Owners, data science practitioners, and design teams, to resolve data-related technical dilemmas and support their infrastructure requirements.
  • Develop data tools tailored for analytics and data science team members, empowering them to construct and refine products that steer business objectives to fruition.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree or equivalent in a pertinent field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related Technical Discipline.
  • Profound expertise in SQL, along with adeptness in crafting data pipelines, architectures, and data sets within cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Proven experience with big data tools such as Hadoop and Spark is indispensable.
  • Familiarity with managing large-scale data sets, as well as proficiency in data pipeline and workflow management tools, Azure cloud services, and stream-processing systems.
  • Previous exposure to agile methodologies or environments characterized by an agile ethos.
  • A professional demeanor coupled with the capacity for innovative problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, C, C++, or Java would be advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a keen inclination to collaborate within cross-functional teams.

Remuneration: £50k-£90k + comprehensive benefits package.
