Deputy Group Curriculum Director English

The Role:

We are looking for a dynamic professional with a proven track record of success in delivering high quality education to young people and adults. You will be committed to securing excellent English outcomes for learners of all ages and at each stage of their educational journey. You will play a pivotal role in the strategic development of the College’s English provision. You will plan, lead and develop an appropriate curriculum for learners across college campuses. The successful candidate will support the Group Curriculum Director to formulate and execute a clear strategic approach to the English curriculum in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

To lead delivery of Foundation English across all sites, to our 4000+ learners.

To manage senior curriculum managers in alignment with English and College ethos and priorities.

To manage all Foundation English courses, including GCSE English and all relevant stepping stone qualifications. To manage Functional Skills for apprentices.

To drive the NCC whole-college approach to resits by working closely with colleagues across the NCC matrix, including Group Curriculum Directors, tutorial colleagues, and Deputy Principals.

To maintain and improve teaching, learning and assessment standards and learner experience is a key DGCD delegated responsibility.

Who You Are:

You will have the ability to manage staff performance and coach individuals to reach their full potential. You will be teacher-trained and have both management and teaching experience, and a relevant degree or equivalent qualification.  Experience of apprenticeships is desirable.
