Summary

Are you passionate about building safety and ensuring the well-being of residents in higher-risk residential buildings? We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Building Safety Manager to join our team, ensuring the highest standards of safety across various residential sites in North London.

As a Building Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing safety for Higher Risk Residential Buildings (HRRBs) in line with safety case reports and regulatory requirements. You’ll be responsible for ensuring building safety is maintained and providing essential safety information to the Building Safety Regulator. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in fire safety and building management who wants to make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee building safety in accordance with safety case reports and manage risks proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory duties and regulatory obligations.
  • Maintain and update Safety Case documentation for buildings, ensuring all risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Manage and supervise contractors, ensuring they meet the necessary skills and qualifications.
  • Coordinate fire risk assessments and ensure timely completion of any required actions.
  • Engage and support residents through a Resident Engagement Strategy and provide clear communication channels for safety concerns.
  • Ensure buildings comply with fire strategies, compartmentation, and fire safety measures.
  • Monitor and report mandatory occurrences to the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure safety is maintained during building work.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar building safety or fire safety role.
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • Membership of IFE or IFSM (or equivalent).
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of relevant fire safety principles, building regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with residents and stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing capital works projects and engaging with residents in line with statutory obligations.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree or relevant qualification in building-related disciplines.
  • Higher-grade fire safety qualifications.
  • Evidence of CPD and commitment to continuous learning.
