Job Title: Arts and Crafts Lecturer

Location: West Yorkshire

Position Type: Temporary

Hours: 16.5 hours per week – (Mon, Wed, Thurs)

About the Role:

We are working with a college based in South Yorkshire who are looking to appoint an Arts & Crafts Lecturer to support with HE students. The placement will be approximately 1 month but does have the view to go beyond this.

Your weekly schedule:

Monday – 6 hours – Level 6 students (supporting final year degree)

Wednesday – 4.5 hours – Level 5 and Access to HE provision

Thursday – 6 hours – Level 4 and Access to HE provision

Key Responsibilities of a Creative Arts Lecturer:

  • Plan, deliver and assess high-quality Creative Arts lessons across a range of disciplines, including Fine Art, Digital Media, Photography and Graphic Design.
  • Develop and implement creative projects that encourage students to explore their artistic potential and think critically.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to support student progress and achievement.

Qualifications and Experience of a Creative Arts Lecturer:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a Creative Arts subject (e.g., Fine Art, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Photography).
  • A full UK recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
  • A passion for fostering creativity and supporting students in reaching their potential.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to teaching, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, registered on the Update Service or issued within the last year.

Desirable as a Creative Arts Lecturer:

  • Experience in leading student exhibitions, shows or creative projects.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and digital tools relevant to Creative Arts education.
  • Knowledge of current trends and practices in the creative industries.
