Accountant (Fixed-Term Contract)

Location: Remote (UK-based) Duration: 6 months

About Us

Morgan Hunt Recruitment is working with a public sector service organisation committed to ensuring the safety and security of the people of Scotland. We are seeking a talented and experienced Accountant to join the accounting on a fixed-term contract basis.

Role Purpose

The accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation. This position will involve monitoring cashflows, managing external relationships and look to improve current processes as well as preparing financial reports, managing budgets, reconciling accounts].

Essential Skills and Experience

• A recognised accountancy qualification would be preferred, e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent]
• Previous experience of cash management and/or capital/fixed assets would be highly advantageous
• Knowledge and understanding of different pension schemes and relevant changes would be advantageous
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable Skills

• Experience working in the public sector
• Knowledge of remote working practices and tools
