Board Member, South Wales, £3,505.24 P/A
First Choice Housing Association is a specialist and innovative organisation providing homes for vulnerable adults. Established in 1988 and working across Wales we are committed to enabling many vulnerable people, including those with a learning and physical disability, complex needs, mental health, and veterans to live independently & lead a full and valued life within the community. We currently have over 1,000 tenants and employ 51 staff.
This is a unique opportunity to make a difference to peoples’ lives. We are looking to appoint a Board member to join our Board and be a member of the Audit Risk & Assurance committee (ARC). You will be part of a dynamic team who are committed to supporting success as part of our continuous improvement journey. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of the organisation and make a real difference to the lives of the tenant we serve.
As part of the ARC committee, you will support the board in ensuring there is a strong internal control framework and effective challenge in relation to risk management and assurance. You will need to attend a minimum of nine Board meetings per year and contribute to at least one committee on a quarterly basis. There will be two strategic planning events and occasional training days.
We are looking for candidates from a Housing Law/Housing Legal background. If you have this experience, we would love to hear from you.
We are keen to ensure the Association has a diverse Board and as such welcome applications from younger members, BAME, disabled and transgender applicants who can provide a valuable and positive contribution to the Board.
As part of our Board these roles will be senior representatives and ambassadors for FCHA. We would welcome applications that are strongly aligned to our Vision, Mission & Values, from individuals who understand the importance of developing positive relationships, are able to challenge constructively, think strategically and have the ability to act with probity, integrity, and honesty. The role requires engagement with FCHA tenants via diverse routes including occasional tenant events.
