Job Opportunity: Senior Delivery Manager – Disaster Recovery

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Senior Delivery Manager to lead the transition from legacy platforms to cloud services, with a focus on strengthening our Disaster Recovery capabilities. This role is pivotal as we move from the discovery phase into the delivery phase, and it requires someone with a robust background in IT and Disaster Recovery projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and Manage: Oversee project and sprint meetings, ensuring projects remain on track, and provide regular status updates to the Programme Manager and Delivery Board.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts, securing their commitment and navigating differing opinions to achieve project goals.
  • Facilitate Communication: Ensure effective collaboration among project teams, establishing a shared understanding of project roles, responsibilities, risks, and dependencies.
  • Documentation and Sign-Offs: Ensure that all project specification artefacts are reviewed and approved by the management team.
  • Multi-Project Management: Handle multiple priorities, manage ambiguity, and ensure all projects align with organisational goals.

Key Outputs and Deliverables

  • Project Initiation Document: Develop and maintain comprehensive project initiation documentation.
  • Realistic Project Plans: Create, manage, and maintain clear and achievable project plans.
  • Documentation Management: Oversee all project documentation, including plans, reporting, RAID logs, and more, ensuring alignment with the Delivery Framework Governance structure.
  • Resource Management: Keep the resource allocation system updated, including resource requests.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate both external and internal engagements with relevant teams.
  • Project Updates: Present regular updates to the Delivery Board, managing and escalating risks and issues as necessary to ensure timely project delivery.

Essential & Desirable Criteria

Essential

  • Proven experience in delivering 3-5 Disaster Recovery projects across multiple organisations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently (2-3).
  • Experience leading projects using various methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile.
  • Formal qualifications in project management (e.g., Prince2, PMP, MSP) and Lean, Agile/Scrum Master.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in matrix-managing multidisciplinary teams.
