We are working on behalf of a public sector organisation based in Glasgow to recruit a dynamic and experienced Deputy Accounting Manager to join the accounting team on a fixed-term contract of 6 months. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial management of this public sector organisation.

About the Role

As Deputy Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Accounting Manager in delivering effective financial management and reporting. Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the department
• Managing supporting and developing the accounting team
• Responsibility for overseeing specific areas of capital accounting, fixed assets and cash management
• Monitor, identify and improve current processes if and where required
• Preparing and analysing financial reports
• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and procedures
• Contributing to the development and implementation of financial systems and processes

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Proven management or supervisory experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A good understanding of public sector financial management
