Job Title: Stalking Advocate

Location: London, UK
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-Time, FTC till March 2025 – with the possibility to extend

We are working with a leading organisation dedicated to supporting victims of stalking, ensuring their safety, and advocating for their rights. Our mission is to empower individuals affected by stalking through comprehensive support services, education, and advocacy.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Stalking Advocate to join the team. The successful candidate will provide expert advice, support, and advocacy to individuals experiencing stalking. This role involves working closely with clients, law enforcement, and other agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of stalking victims.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support and advocacy for stalking victims.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop personalised safety plans.
  • Liaise with law enforcement, legal professionals, and other relevant agencies.
  • Assist clients in navigating the criminal justice system and understanding their rights.
  • Facilitate support groups and educational workshops for victims.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions.
  • Stay informed about current legislation and best practices related to stalking and victim support.
  • Participate in community outreach and awareness-raising activities.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a victim support or advocacy setting.
  • Strong understanding of the dynamics and impacts of stalking.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Empathy, resilience, and a commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with law enforcement or in a legal setting.
  • Knowledge of current stalking legislation and victim rights.
  • Training in risk assessment and safety planning.
