Management Accountant

Morgan Hunt is working with a Housing Association in South Manchester who are looking at recruiting a Management Accountant. This is an 8 week contract role paying up to £26 p/hour and will offer hybrid working – 2 office days p/week.

Key Responsibilities of the Management Accountant:

• Update non-core financial systems with financial information to ensure reconciliation.
• Advise and train budget holders on financial understanding and budgetary control.
• Challenging the budget holders on overspends and poor financial performance and assist budget holders to manage any financial risks or opportunities that have been identified
• Prepare routine journals to ensure accurate management accounts and balance sheets.
• Support the production of Directorate Packs, analysing variances and their impact on budgets.
• Prepare working papers for statutory and regulatory returns, statutory accounts, or business plans as per the agreed timetable.

Previous Skills and Experience of the Management Accountant:

• AAT Qualified (or qualified by experience).
• Development accounting experience.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills – particularly in Excel.
• Confident communicator.
