Job Title: Mental Health Team Leader – Safe Haven Accommodation

Job Type: Permanent – 30 or 37.5 hours per week

Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire

Industry: Social Care – Homelessness and Mental Health

Hours: 4pm-1am involves (working 2 weekends a month)

The organisation

In this Mental Health Team Leader – Safe Haven Accommodation role you will join a 24/7 residential support for those referred by NHS mental health professionals at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The safe haven will offer out-of-hours support on a self-referral basis every day of the week between 4.30pm to 12am for anyone who is struggling and needs a friendly face to talk to. In this role you will help manage a caseload of clients as well as managing a small team of front line workers.

Key responsibilities

In this Mental Health Team Leader Safe Haven Accommodation job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Work alongside people, exploring opportunities to improve their quality of life, develop their skills and make positive decisions about their future
  • Ensure effective communication and share information with partner agencies and organisations (attending meetings if required)
  • Offer brief harm reduction/crisis interventions to de-escalate crisis
  • Complete robust and accurate documents to identify need, plan support and manage risk and review in line with P3 and local policy and procedure.
  • Supervising support workers – taking part in 1:1 supervisions / managing the rota / training and development of staff

Skills and Experience of Mental Health Team Leader

  • Proven track record of working In a homeless or mental health service before – dealt with a caseload and support sessions
  • Flexible to work over days / evening / weekends during the week
  • Holds an enhanced DBS child and adult cleared – Issued In the last 12 months or on the update service
