Deputy Head of Financial Services

Morgan Hunt is working with a Hospital in London who are looking at recruiting a Deputy Head of Financial Services. This is a 4 month contract role paying up to £220 p/day (Umbrella).

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead financial support for Capital and Charity Accounting, Control Accounts, Financial Control, and Treasury Management, with line management responsibilities.
• Liaise internally with Senior Finance managers, Capital Programme Leads, and externally with auditors, suppliers, and banking providers.
• Maintain financial control environment, act as authorised approver, and ensure compliance with Trust’s financial instructions.
• Support financial strategy, prepare reports, attend meetings, raise concerns, and provide professional development on technical accounting.
• Oversee external reporting, capital and charity reporting, compliance, internal reporting, financial control, treasury management, and taxation and payroll oversight.

Previous Skills and Experience:

• CCAB Qualified Accountant or Qualified by Experience with evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
• 5 years of finance experience in a complex organization, familiarity with accounting issues, and experience with External Audit Providers.
• Knowledge of NHS finance policies, robust financial control environment, Trust VAT, and control accounts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel, adaptable, and able to handle changing priorities and deadlines.
