Job Title: Young Persons Floating Progression Coach

Location: Southwark

Pay Rate: £13.00 – £17.00 per hour

Contract: 3 months (potential temp to perm)

Hours: Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00

We are seeking a dedicated and dependable Young Persons Floating Progression Coach to join our team in Southwark. This rewarding role involves promoting independent living among young people aged 18-25, including those with mental health issues, dual diagnosis, PTSD, learning disabilities, and young mothers transitioning into independent living. Your primary responsibility will be to provide crucial support to our clients, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to live independently.

Key Skill Sets:

  • Dependability and proactive attitude.
  • Confidence to work independently and comfortably in lone working situations.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding protocols.
  • Excellent client engagement skills, as trust-building is essential.
  • Flexibility to accommodate client events and property visits.
  • Willingness to perform rudimentary health and safety checks.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a diverse group of clients, including young mothers, former foster care youth, and individuals from supported housing.
  • Assist clients in becoming financially independent and capable of living on their own, providing guidance and support as they transition.
  • Educate young mothers on available services.
  • Conduct monthly visits outside of the borough.
  • Manage a caseload of 15 clients, with a minimum requirement of 2 hours of support per week for each client (targeting 1 hour per week).
  • Collaborate with clients during client events and workshops focusing on Education, Training, and Employment (ETE).

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar support role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by young people, including those with mental health issues, learning disabilities, and those transitioning out of foster care.
  • Comfortable with lone working and flexible work hours.
