Assessment Worker – Camden

An Assessment Worker is required to work on a rolling contract for a homelessness charity based in Camden.

You would be required on site from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has worked within the homelessness sector and is hoping to advance in their career with an organisation that will help them further their personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities:

· Locate and get in touch with those who are sleeping on the streets, adhering to procedures to provide prompt assistance.

· Ensure that substance abusers and problem drinkers can receive treatment by collaborating closely with drug and alcohol teams.

· Collaborate with mental health agencies to guarantee that service users may obtain mental health treatment when necessary.

· Work proactively to guarantee service users’ access to continuing medical treatment.

· Encourage and support individuals to return to their home communities, and where appropriate, to redirect those who are new to rough sleeping.

· Maximise housing options for the service user group by collaborating closely with housing providers in the neighbourhood.

· Ensure that action plans are followed and to collaborate closely with all partner services in Camden and other boroughs, providing pertinent information.

Experience Required:

· Recognising the needs of those who are begging or rough sleeping.

· Thorough understanding of at least one of the following: mental health, alcohol abuse, and substance abuse.

· Comprehension of clients with complicated and multifaceted requirements.

· Recognising the value of maintaining professional boundaries and multi-agency collaboration within a strength-based, asset-building approach.

· Multi-agency meeting facilitation experience.

· Knowledge of and dedication to constructively collaborating with a variety of statutory and nonprofit organisations.

· Strong recording, reporting, and administrative abilities.

· Understanding of the safeguarding protocols that apply to vulnerable individuals and children.
