Duties and Responsibilities:

As an Audit and Accounts Senior, you will play a key role in delivering timely and accurate audit and accountancy services. Your responsibilities will include:

• Completing assignments for managers and supervisors to the required standard
• Delegating tasks to trainees and providing ongoing feedback and guidance
• Acting as a role model for new trainees
• Maintaining client relationships and ensuring confidentiality
• Supporting a varied portfolio of clients
• Leading audits from planning to completion, liaising with both the team and clients as necessary
• Conducting pre-audit and post-audit meetings with clients
• Mentoring and reviewing the work of junior accountants to ensure high-quality service delivery
• Contributing to the development and training of the team
• Supporting the firm’s growth by retaining and building relationships with clients
• Preparing and submitting statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
• Reviewing junior accountants’ work and providing on-the-job training
• Training clients on relevant software

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this role will be well-organised, with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines effectively, while engaging proactively with clients. You will have:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an audit and accounts role within an accountancy practice
• Proven experience in leading audits, preparing financial statements (FRS 102), and submitting tax returns
• Strong technical proficiency in audit with excellent attention to detail
• Familiarity with audit and accounting software, such as CCH Accounts Production, CCH Audit Automation, and Outlook
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work alongside senior management
• Experience in managing and mentoring a team
• A proactive, problem-solving attitude with a focus on delivering excellent client service
• Experience with client relationship management and business development
• Part-qualified candidates may be considered depending on experience
