Role Overview

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated English Lecturer to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching across a range of English subjects, helping students develop their skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking. This role includes creating and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to the overall academic development of our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in English, including literature, language, and composition
  • Develop, update, and implement course materials in line with the curriculum and academic standards
  • Assess student performance, providing constructive and timely feedback to support their academic progress
  • Provide academic support and guidance to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the curriculum through collaboration with colleagues
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in the field of English education to ensure course content is relevant and contemporary

Key Requirements

  • A degree in English, English Literature, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed) or a commitment to obtaining one
  • Proven experience in teaching English at a post-secondary level
  • Strong knowledge of English literature, language, and writing skills
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for teaching and supporting students in their academic journey

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in teaching English at various levels (e.g., GCSE, A-level, vocational, higher education)
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and modern teaching methods
  • Knowledge of current trends in English education and literature
