Role Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sports Lecturer to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching across various sports-related subjects, providing students with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in their academic and professional careers. This role includes developing and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to the ongoing academic development of our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching across a range of sports subjects, ensuring that content is both relevant and challenging
  • Develop and update course materials to meet curriculum requirements and industry standards
  • Assess student performance, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their academic progression
  • Support and guide students in their learning journey, encouraging active participation and engagement
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of the curriculum through collaboration with colleagues
  • Keep up to date with developments in the sports industry and ensure course content reflects current trends and practices

Key Requirements

  • A degree in Sports Studies, Sports Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed) or a commitment to obtaining one
  • Proven experience in teaching sports at a post-secondary level
  • Strong subject knowledge in various aspects of sports and fitness
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for teaching and supporting students in their academic journey

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in teaching sports at different levels (e.g., A-level, vocational, higher education)
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and modern teaching methodologies
  • Knowledge of sports industry practices and developments
